Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

MegaDrop ("we", "us") operates megadrop.cloud, a temporary file and text sharing service. You can contact us at megadropcloud@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

• Account data (if you sign up): email, display name, hashed password, plan tier, account creation date.
• Upload metadata: filename, MIME type, size, expiration time, view & download counts, password hash (if set), visibility, burn-after-read flag.
• Upload contents: the file or text body you share. Stored only until expiration, the download limit is reached, or burn-after-read triggers.
• Technical data: minimal request logs (timestamps, error codes) used for abuse prevention and reliability.

3. How we use it

To deliver the service: store and serve your drops, enforce limits, send you authentication emails, process Premium purchases, and prevent abuse. We do not sell your data and we do not show personalised advertising based on your uploads.

4. Payments

MegaDrop Premium is a one-time US$4 / 30-day purchase processed by PayPal. We do not see or store your card number, CVV, or PayPal password. We only receive a transaction confirmation containing the PayPal order ID, the amount paid, the currency, the payer's email address (as returned by PayPal), and our internal user ID — which we store to grant Premium, prevent duplicate captures, issue refunds, and meet accounting obligations. PayPal's own handling of your data is governed by the PayPal Privacy Statement.

5. Retention

Drops are deleted automatically at their selected expiration, on first download/view when burn-after-read is enabled, or when the download limit is hit. Account data is kept until you delete your account. Payment records are retained for the period required by accounting and tax law (typically 6–10 years depending on jurisdiction).

6. Sharing

We share data only with the infrastructure providers that run the service (cloud hosting, database, email delivery, payment processing) and only as needed to operate it. We disclose data to authorities only when legally required.

7. Your rights

You can access, export, or delete your data at any time from your account settings, or by emailing megadropcloud@gmail.com.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed. Drops can be password-protected and burn-after-read. Connections are encrypted in transit. No system is perfect — do not upload material you cannot afford to lose.

9. Changes

If we materially change this policy we will update the date above and notify signed-in users by email.
